Adi Kailash Yatra: The Journey to the Abode of Shiva

Adi Kailash stands tall amidst the mighty Himalayan ranges as a symbol of spirituality and divine power. This mountain peak in Uttarakhand, India, is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva himself. The holy mountain Adi Kailash is close to the India-Nepal-Tibet border,  in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India.

Mandatory Permit: Before embarking on the Adi Kailash Yatra, it is essential to obtain a mandatory permit from the Uttarakhand government. This permit can be obtained from the district headquarters of Pithoragarh, and it is advisable to keep a copy of the permit with you at all times during the trek.

When you enter Kutti, you have to pay Rs 300 for Green Tax Fee

Opening Time of Adi Kailash Yatra

The Adi Kailash Yatra usually begins in May-June and continues till September-October. The trek, which starts from Jollingkong, can travel by road but from Dharchula to Jollingkong, there is no bus service and bikes and Personal Car not advisable, Only 4 X4 vehicle is safe for travel.

The best time to visit Adi Kailash is June when the weather is pleasant, and the trekking conditions are favorable.

Adi Kailash Trek Route: Following the Jollingkong to Adi Kailash

The trekking route to Adi Kailash is beautiful, dotted with scenic vistas of snow-clad peaks, lush meadows, and gurgling streams.

Trek Duration: 2 hours

On morning walk, you may see Parvati Lake from Mount Adi Kailash. Spend few hours there before returning to Jollingkong for dinner and an overnight stay in tents or fibre huts.

Gunji – Kala Pani Permit Check- Om Parvat on the same route as Kailash Mansarovar  i.e Located in China.

Food Points & Stay: Tea Stall available in Garwadhar, Stay in Bundi, Kutti, Gunji and on Return Stay at Nabi Village.
